Level-Up Together: Understanding the Therapeutic Power of Gaming
If your child can talk for hours about Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnite, or their latest favorite game while you’re still trying to understand what makes it so interesting, you’re not alone. Gaming has become a big part of how many kids play, socialize, problem-solve, and connect with the world around them.
And while conversations about screen time and boundaries still matter, gaming doesn’t always have to be something families battle over.
Level-Up Together offers a different perspective.
In this interactive virtual workshop, you’ll explore what your child may be getting out of the games they love and how stepping into that world with curiosity can create opportunities for connection, communication, and growth.
Together, we’ll talk about the social and emotional benefits of gaming, what healthy gaming habits can look like, and realistic ways to set boundaries without making every conversation about screens feel like a fight. Most importantly, you’ll learn how gaming can become a shared experience that helps you better understand and connect with your child.
You’ll walk away with practical ways to:
- Better understand why gaming matters to your child and the skills they may be building along the way
- Create realistic, balanced expectations around screen time and responsibilities
- Have more productive conversations about gaming with less frustration and conflict
- Use your child’s interests as an opportunity to connect, even if you’re not a gamer yourself
You don’t need to know the difference between Minecraft and Roblox to join us. Whether gaming is completely unfamiliar or already part of your family’s routine, there’s something here for you.
