A Creative Space for Teens to Reflect, Express, and Reconnect

Raising a teenager in today’s world isn’t easy. Between academic pressure, social stress, and emotional ups and downs, it can be hard for teens to find healthy outlets—and even harder to talk about what they’re feeling.

Creative Connections: Art Workshop offers your teen a supportive, therapeutic space to slow down, express themselves freely, and connect with others through creative expression. This two-hour art therapy workshop is led by licensed professional counselor and art therapist Megan Fosco, LPC, ATR-P, and is designed specifically for high school students.

Your teen will benefit from:

  • Psychoeducation on self-compassion and the mind-body connection

  • Open studio art-making to process emotions and explore creativity

  • Response art and group reflection to build self-awareness and empathy

  • Facilitated discussion in a safe, inclusive environment

Whether your teen is navigating anxiety, stress, or simply needs time to reconnect with themselves, this workshop provides a meaningful, screen-free space for healing and growth—no prior art experience needed.

Help your teen slow down, create, and connect—in a space designed just for them.

Facilitator Q&A:

Q) How does artmaking help teens process their emotions differently than traditional talk therapy?

"When people engage in artmaking, they are expanding on their identity and their inner self far more deeply than how they can connect with their whole self just through words. The use of art therapy and artmaking to connect with one’s emotions and inner workings provides a profound internal dialogue that not only builds on a person’s understanding but allows for new questions and answers to come to light. Art-making allows individuals to process emotions in a holistic way, whereas in traditional talk therapy, most might miss out on the deeper connections one can truly make within themself and their community."

Q) What can participants expect during the Creative Connections workshop?

"Creative Connections is a workshop that provides space for self-exploration and community to connect. Participants will come in and learn about what it can be like to create response art towards a given prompt that engages in an open studio approach."

Q) Do you need to be “good at art” to benefit from this workshop?

"Not at all! Anyone with any amount of art experience is welcome. If you are nervous about the idea of making art, my advice is to choose what material inspires you and just make a mark on the page."

Q) What’s one takeaway you hope everyone leaves this workshop with?

"My hope is that people are able to build a relationship with artmaking and be able to have an alternative avenue towards an outlet of emotional processing. Trust the process!"
