Parenting Through Eating Disorder Recovery: Skills, Language & Support in the Outpatient World
Supporting your teen through eating disorder recovery can feel overwhelming. Many parents struggle with questions like: What is my role in recovery? How do I handle meals, school, or social events? Am I doing enough—or too much? These uncertainties are completely normal, and you are not alone.
This workshop is designed to give parents practical tools, clear guidance, and confidence to navigate outpatient recovery with skill and compassion. You will leave this workshop equipped to support your teen in ways that are effective, empowering, and sustainable for your family.
What You Will Gain:
- Confidence and clarity in your role: Learn how to support your teen without unintentionally reinforcing the eating disorder. Discover when to step in, when to step back, and how to set boundaries that foster recovery and independence.
- Strategies for real-life challenges: Gain practical skills to navigate meals, holidays, vacations, school, and social events. Leave feeling prepared to handle everyday stressors and recovery triggers with calm and confidence.
- Advocacy and care coordination skills: Understand what questions to ask providers, how to communicate with schools and other systems, and how to ensure your teen receives consistent, coordinated support throughout their recovery journey.
This workshop is ideal for parents of teens beginning outpatient eating disorder recovery who want guidance, support, and confidence in their role at home.
